[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We're diving headfirst into the world of ghosts from the heartwarming to the hair raising. So grab your ghost hunting gear because this is going to be a spirited conversation you won't want to miss.
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: This week on the No More Late Fees podcast we are joined by our good friend and returning guest Simone. Welcome Simone.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi! So happy to be back.
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: We're excited to have you back. We love when you're on.
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So the last time you were here, it was a cold dark summer.
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Because we were feeling the strike and we were trying to support our brethren by not doing any episodes featuring movies.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So we covered the VMAs, which was a very popular episode actually.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And that ended up being two episodes because we were just like, we have so much more to say.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And what our listeners don't know is that we recorded a whole ass episode and didn't realize we weren't recording and had to do it again.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We did.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: We forgot about that.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That episode was very dedicated.
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think the second run went better because there was a lot of tangents we went on on the first one.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, behind the scenes knowledge for everybody.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's showbiz baby.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Luckily Simone was a trooper and she understands the lifestyle.
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So I get it.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: She was there for the ride with us.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So we appreciate that.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Any, anything new going on and you're on the West coast where I'm in Florida dealing with all sorts of weather right now.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You guys have gotten like really heavy downpours the past, past few days.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Luckily down here hasn't really been down here is business as usual.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We're in hurricane season.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's nothing too crazy.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: There's been some rain, some wind, but we haven't really been feeling what the, you know, what everyone else is feeling like in the Carolinas.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's where it's hit pretty big.
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're think we're thankful for now, but hurricane season doesn't end until November.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So not out of the woods just yet.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, since, since we last recorded, you know, teaching going strong, entering my seventh year at my site and just started to go back into the classroom this week to get things ready.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: The summer was like much different from last summer.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it was a lot more calmer, had less things going on.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was a nice way to kind of like force myself to slow down a little bit.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But I will say finishing off these past few weeks with watching women thrive in sports and the Olympics has just been so fun and phenomenal.
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been great.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Olympics has been.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Overall, very entertaining.
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So we have a game.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to try to rank some cinematic ghosts.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_02]: This may be hard because, you know, I don't really watch a lot of scary movies.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to try to hang in there with you guys.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But first up, we got the sixth sense.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Then we have Casper, Haunted Mansion, 13 Ghosts, Ghost Ship, What Lies Beneath, The Ring, The Grudge, The Frighteners, Stir of Echoes, The Others, and Corpse Bride.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to start off by saying that what lies beneath is in my top five.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't give a fuck what the plot of the movie is.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_02]: My boo's in it.
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I do love a ghost that's trying to inform someone to get retribution.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So What Lies Beneath, I really love.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Stir of Echoes, I really love.
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Then there's like 13 ghosts.
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That would probably be my top if I'm voting ghost wise.
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And the Frighteners is also just kooky, ghosty.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Love it.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like a ghost that is menacing and that I can't kill.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So like The Ring and The Grudge are like very low for me.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Because fuck Samara.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't want any part of it.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_01]: She's a horse girl.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: You can't mess with horse girls.
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_01]: No.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if that helped at all, but that was my dissertation on ghosts.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: What about you Simone?
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I have to start making my list and writing it down because my brain will be mush.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't just like say it off the tome.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So this is my opinion, my opinion only, but if I'm going on like ghosts and movies in general, I actually put the ring at the top.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: That was like one of the first movies, like scary movies that I remember seeing and having that like legitimately terrify me.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's one that I still to this day will not watch alone.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I will watch with people, but I don't do that one by myself.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Next, I will put 13 ghosts.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: That's also one of my favorite episodes that you guys have ever done.
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Who the hell is that to me?
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I still say that to myself.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: That to me will ever be so funny.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And I recently, like my parents did like this big garage, like blow out, clean out that AKA my sister and I had to go over and like get all of our stuff out.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And I had had a huge crate of horror movie DVDs that I had been collecting over the years and like up top was 13 ghosts.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: That was a good reminder that I need to watch it.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Next, I'm going to go Casper just because it's Devin Salwa and you still like, I still can't not be goody about that.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: After Casper, I'm going to go Sixth Sense.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to throw in Corpse Bride there because I would not mind a ghost to follow me around that will have like musical numbers every now and again.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind a little like haunted cabaret.
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm down for that.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember you and I Jackie seeing Stir of Echoes when we talked about this and just liking it 10 times better than the Sixth Sense.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's definitely up there for me also because I haven't seen a lot of these.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie, I think I saw The Ring with you and your mom and Johnny.
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure.
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_02]: What year did that come out?
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That was like 2001, 2002.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I saw it with you guys because I think you guys were trying to like prevent me from running because I'm not she don't run or she a track star when scary movies come on.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: But that one did scare the shit out of me.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I never saw The Grudge, the English version.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I saw the Japanese version of it.
[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: The Grudge has your girl in it too.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I just, it has her and the guy from Roswell.
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I just.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm scared.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm scared is what she is.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: The others look stupid to me and I can't ever get it out of my head of the.
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Parody from scary movie where it's Michael Jackson holding a baby.
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So like, I.
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Never got into that.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Plus, I'm not gonna lie.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Nicole Kidman really creeps me out.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Just seeing the ads for it.
[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like.
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like this.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Didn't see it.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: What lies beneath.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Definitely Casper.
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I had so much fun on the episode doing 13 ghosts.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think it makes me think I really love the movie, but I still have that feeling that they put so much work into the backstories of those ghosts and did like absolutely nothing with it.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they needed more screen time for sure.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, those are my top ones, I guess.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know nothing about ghost ship.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_02]: The haunted mansion.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I watched it, I think for like the first time more recently.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Eddie Murphy one or the other.
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Eddie Murphy one.
[00:08:20] Yeah.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And even the newer one was like, just okay.
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't I felt like there's it still could have been more scary.
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, don't be afraid to do it.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And Ken was the opposite.
[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_00]: He goes, this is not for children.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he just kept saying, this is scary.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: This is not for children.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, this extends and we'll get into it more.
[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_00]: He was very brave and watched it.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: He had not seen it since he ran out of the theater when it was in theaters.
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I know he bailed in the theater.
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Kenneth did he does he remember specifically what it was?
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he said it was when it Misha Barton shows up in the tent puking.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: He said he did go back into the theater, but he ran out for a moment and he was I was like, okay, hold on.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: This came out in 99.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I was just you were really an age.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, running out of the theater goes I don't like scary movies.
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I get that but like, I don't consider the sixth sense a horror movie.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Agreed.
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And like it's thriller suspense he has a couple of jump scares but it's not horror by any means.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know I was real scared.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Not the first time around.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, the first time around not not as much but the second time when I'm not second time when I watched the shit yesterday.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you know, it's a dog.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me turn a light on.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: All right, so number one, I guess we're saying 13 ghosts.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: You both said it was a top one for you.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel yeah, I feel good with that.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Where are we with Casper?
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Casper for number two?
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for the ring.
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually think the ring should be number two instead of Casper.
[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I love Casper.
[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: But he's so cute.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Samara if we're going on like menacing and someone who's just like a complete terror.
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That bitch Gary.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Seven days.
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I just wanted to wash her hair.
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Also, I'm pretty sure Samara is the same actress who voiced Lilo and Lilo and Stitch.
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_01]: She is.
[00:10:40] Yeah.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_00]: We love a queen who can do both.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Multi-faceted.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: What lies beneath after Stir of Echoes?
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the corpse bride too should be after.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, corpse bride.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I would do the same.
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I die.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We were married.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm coming back, bitch.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_02]: There's this new bitch.
[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And then.
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that Michelle Pfeiffer?
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Who else is in What Lies Beneath?
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: She is.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Has one of the best.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: This is getting really nerdy.
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_00]: One of the, in my opinion, one of the best shots.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like in cinema where it's like, he opens the door and then he closes it.
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the rear view mirror reflection is like, what's chasing him.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So good.
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It's been a minute since I've seen that.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll have to go back and watch it.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Think and then go ship at the grudge go ship and the others at the bottom.
[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm hmm.
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_00]: The others I remember being bored with.
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, this isn't scary.
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Those ship was like Titanic.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: But like without the love story.
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like.
[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Like a mix of like Titanic and Poseidon.
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Spooky adventure on an old abandoned ship.
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not looking forward to doing that one.
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: All right, Jackie, what's our list now?
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So top 13 ghosts.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_00]: We love a jackal.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And a juggernaut.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Then Samara in the ring.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Casper.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Stir of echoes.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_00]: The corpse bride.
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: What lies beneath.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Haunted mansion.
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_00]: The frighteners.
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_00]: The grudge.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Ghost ship.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And the others.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, got a question for you guys.
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Which celebrity would you want to cast for you?
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And when I say cast for you, I mean just a friendly ghost.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Who may or may not make out with you.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Do we get to dance together?
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And will they whisper?
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I keep you?
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: If you.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Who do I want to whisper?
[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I keep you?
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's hard.
[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I have my answer.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Go for it.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm riding this train to the end.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Ryan Reynolds.
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I was thinking of dead people.
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It's alive.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We already know my answer, but I'm going to try to be different.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to try to be different.
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Hold on.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Hold on.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Who am I?
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know a good one for you, Danielle.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Who?
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Jonathan Brandes.
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: That was my answer.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah?
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Of who was dead.
[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: RIP friend.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I love you to the day I die.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Aww.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'll keep him.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I really had the biggest crush on him when I was little.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like hard to decide if I'm going like, if I'm going like 90s crush or if I'm going
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: like today's crush.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Because if I'm going today, my like beef man cake guilty pleasure is Henry Cavill.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Nice.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: But if I'm going like 90s crush, I mean, Devin Sawa was just so like quintessential.
[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll have to think about that.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll have to think about the 90s one.
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Get back to me.
[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to randomly say it like, oh, it's that person.
[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait, I already know it.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I already know it.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It just came to me.
[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_01]: My ultimate like middle school celebrity crush, one that I like actually got very in depth
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_01]: in terms of like researching and maybe a little scrapbooking was Jeremy Sumter, the actor that
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_01]: played Peter Pan in the 2004 like live remake.
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw some Netflix with movie with him not too long ago.
[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It's yeah.
[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Why does he look familiar?
[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, oh, it's Pete Pan.
[00:14:43] Yeah.
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_01]: He re altered my middle school brain chemistry.
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like cute curly hair.
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I would.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I was too old when he played that role for me to be looking at him that way.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But I know a lot of other millennials have that same point viewpoint.
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So he aged well.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he did.
[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not bad.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think he like does much anymore.
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think he needs to like I think he can random like Comic Con and be like,
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: it's Peter and people still.
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so because you are our guest, you get to be a honorary blockbuster employee.
[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And you get to recommend three movies for our listeners.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, movies of your time, like the time period for your show or just like any movie, whatever you want.
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:43] Yeah.
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a really good question.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: If you are interested in dabbling in psychological thrillers, but you don't want to fully commit to watching a scary movie.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_01]: One of my all time favorite films is sounds of the lambs like I cannot recommend that movie highly enough to people Academy Award nominating maybe winning I don't remember.
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I think the story was told so wonderfully.
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It was like the perfect amount of like suspense what's going to happen next.
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll never forget like that's a I'll never forget the first time I saw that movie.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm taking a one, a little 180 to keep it light and fun.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're looking for a great musical.
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I love Moulin Rouge.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That is one of my top five favorite movies of all time.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I think Ewan McGregor is such a doll.
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And I just love the music, the soundtrack.
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I went to go see the musical live last year.
[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was okay.
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_01]: But I love that movie so much.
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And three, a movie that will really get you in your feels.
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And also just really deeply remind you of your childhood.
[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Stand by me.
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So classic.
[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you haven't watched Stand by me made in the 80s.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It has a very young River Phoenix and Corey Feldman and Will Wheaton and Gary O'Connell.
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: O'Connell.
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, it's just like a great story of growing up and a little bit of spooky, not too spooky elements in it, but just like the child acting in that movie, I think is like kids should be watching that as a note when they're trying to act and Haley Joel Osment in the success.
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, 100%.
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
