[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Buckle up for a hilarious ride through the cinematic universe of Ivan Reitman with an epic showdown, ranking the best of the best from his legendary filmography. Plus, Jackie's sister, Heather, is back with another round of employee picks and a brand new question of the day.

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: This week on the No More Late Fees podcast, we are joined by my sister, Heather.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome!

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back!

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy to be back!

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I've missed you!

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_02]: We've missed you too!

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_02]: What was the last one, Sweetest Thing, which was at the beginning of season three?

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's been a while.

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long time coming.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I keep knocking on Jackie's door saying, I'll do this movie, I'll do this one.

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, I've got evolution for ya!

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: The best of the best.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So, what have you been up to?

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, just doing the do, being a mom to Sweet Willow.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Willow, my daughter's three years old and the apple of everyone's eye.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_01]: She really is.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we just found out we are pregnant with our second.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_01]: So, survive the first trimester.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's awesome!

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Congrats!

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you!

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: We're having Willow gets a little brother.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So, we are so excited.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's gonna be a boy?

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah!

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's good!

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah!

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: We're so excited!

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: A whole new world.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a little more difficult because we've saved everything of hers.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So, we thought if we had a girl, it'd be nice and easy.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_01]: No need to get clothes or toys or anything, but we get to start fresh with the little boys.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So, we're excited.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and you know, when they're little, that stuff won't even matter.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So, like the colors and stuff like that, but that should be so much fun.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: We did.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, she, despite our best efforts, we went girly on a lot of things, but we did try

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: to do gender neutral and just kind of like character, like 90s character stuff.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So, we'll be able to reuse some stuff for sure.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: We're so excited.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I sent over a list of names last night.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, and you don't have to use any of these, but these are my suggestions.

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Send them my way for sure.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It's hard.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I had a couple of girl names queued up that I absolutely love, but naming a boy is hard.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: It's very, I don't know, it's different for some reason.

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Send over your nature boy names.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We need suggestions.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: All of No More Late Feast family, send nature themed boy names their way so that they can

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: follow to me.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, since we just covered Ivan Reitman's evolution, I thought it would be fun to dive

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: into some of his other movies because he's a pretty big producer.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I realized how much until I went into his filmography and just to like

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: make it less crazy.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I just did our timeframe because the man's been doing it for a while.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what's on the list.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, first we have, so all three of us are going to work together to try to rank these.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So we have space jam.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: We have private parts, which is the Howard Stern biopic, which I know we all know.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, unfortunately six days, seven nights with my boy Harrison Ford father's day.

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the one with Billy Crystal, I think.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And what Robin Williams.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I saw that, but I like both of those people.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Road trip, old school course evolution, Euro trip.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a year outside of our realm, but I love this movie so much.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Junior with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emma Thompson.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's almost like a reunion from twins because isn't what's his name is in it too.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Danny DeVito.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So, Oh boy, this is going to be interesting.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I have a top three right out of the gate.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: What is it?

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Old school evolution trip.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I think would be in my top three.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And I am sure Jackie's definitely Euro trip somewhere in her top three as well.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Euro trip and probably then space jam for me.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You can't go there with little.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm, I'm down for your tripping one.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I feel like I left more rewatching that than I did with evolution.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Like evolution has some moments that you're waiting for to laugh at, but you're, you're

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: like, you're enjoying it and laughing the whole way through.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And we're good with Euro trip and then evolution.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Plus Scotty doesn't know like that alone.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So evolution, they should evolution.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Did I like space jam when we rewatched it?

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I can pull up the ratings.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I will say that what I remember of junior, I really enjoyed, but I haven't seen it in

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: a very long time.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It, it cracks me up.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And when he's about to have the baby, I'm like, Ooh, big baby in a pee pee hole, small

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: pee pee hole.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: What you gonna do?

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: They did a cesarean.

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like weak.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Easy way out.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He would have died.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: There's the baby would have died.

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: There's no way.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But even then I was like, what are they going to do?

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you.

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I can picture the characters.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I can picture how they look in it, but I'd have, I can't remember much storyline in it

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: for some reason.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I, okay.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Space jam was two days for both of us.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Then I would like to request old school to be moved up farther.

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I know like you don't like Will Ferrell, but that movie, I still quote that movie.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's another one.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: My boy blue.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going streaking.

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I have never seen father's day or six days, seven nights.

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't have an opinion on those one way or another.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I think road trips definitely gotta be after spaceship.

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it holds up after time.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember liking it though.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember liking private parts too, but I don't know if it was because I was young when

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: it came out.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was just like kind of risky and yeah, it was risky.

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I just know there's a lot of boobies in that movie.

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a weird scene about her sitting on the stereo and I was like,

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: that's the part that sticks out.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And what's his face?

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Paul Giamatti.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: His name was pig vomit.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm bringing an interesting one when we do.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I do remember six days and seven nights.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked that movie that they're stranded on a island or something, right?

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: He's a pilot.

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, if it was just me, it'd be number one, but I'm trying my best to hold back.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The bias is strong.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Would you, so since you know, junior, since you remember junior the most, would you put

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: that above junior?

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I still, I still love that movie.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So private parts on Father's Day.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we feeling good?

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I, I'm sure Father's Day is probably pretty good.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I just, but I'm also a little confused as to why none of us saw it.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So was it good?

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So I know in promotion for Father's Day, I'm pretty sure it was Father's Day.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the intros to friends, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams walk into Central Perk and

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: the energy between the two of them was so chaotic.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like one of my least favorite.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Like scenes.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate it.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's, I think mentally that puts Father's Day, like has a bad taste in my mouth because

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_02]: of that scene from friends.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's all I got.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's read.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: No, go ahead.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I just say, I just, I feel like that would have been a movie.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Daddy would have pushed, but I'm surprised that we didn't see it.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, Jackie, read off the list then.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: So number one, Euro trip to evolution, three old school, four space jam, five road trip,

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_02]: six junior, seven, six days, seven nights, eight private parts and nine Father's Day.

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And just for good measure, I wanted to read some of the other movies he's produced because

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I know people would be like, sorry, it was too hard.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of movies.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So from the eighties, obviously we've got all the Ghostbusters movies.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Got to give credit to that.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_00]: He also produced twins.

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, junior is most likely it's kind of like a sequel, but not really.

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: They were stripes.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: What were you gonna say?

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, the Ghostbuster movies aren't in your guys timeframe.

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_01]: They're in the eighties.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Summer.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Stripes, Animal House.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And then when we get into the late 2000s, we've got I Love You Man, Postgrad randomly,

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: which I have on DVD.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't ask me why I have that movie on DVD.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Up in the Air, No Strings Attached, Draft Day, Baywatch, another father movie, Father

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Figures, Godmothered, and all the way up to the new Ghostbusters movies.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And did he pass away?

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope I, yeah, he did.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_00]: He died in 2022.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I remember his son did the latest Ghostbusters movie.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Which we tried to watch, but it was not very good.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw it.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen all the other one that came before this one.

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I was just like, all right.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So many of his earlier movies, like the first half of his career were just bangers.

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he had such good movies.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's weird too, that the style of movie didn't carry through in his later career.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like he kind of changed from like the comedy, every man's kind of movie to a

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: little bit more like rom-com or yeah, I didn't know a lot of the more recent titles, but it's

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_01]: interesting.

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think his producer credit, like he was, it's a wide range, but I think with

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: his directing, they're all very similar in the kind of humor that they had.

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So, and I love that a lot of his other movies have the, like he'll use casts from his other

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: like produced work, which is cool.

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll get into that later.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, we got into it when we did.

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So question for all of us, what random product like head and shoulders do you think would be

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: a hilarious savior if we were under attack by aliens?

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why, but like blow pops came into my head.

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, I think the most fitting answer for the three of us being here for me to say

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_00]: is double bubble baby.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I would save the world with double bubble or sunflower seeds.

[00:11:45] Yeah.

[00:11:47] Yeah.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm my, my mind, like in so many other occasions went straight to Frank's red hot sauce.

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's just, I love everything you need in this life.

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_00]: What is it?

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: What's the tagline?

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I put that shit on everything.

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Even aliens.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just like, like almost like Mars attacks, their heads explode when they eat Frank's red

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_02]: hot, but they can't help themselves or something.

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, red hot's the candy.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_00]: No, the sauce.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought I got it.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, wait, did I say the wrong one?

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You got it right.

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Right on it.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Keith for my birthday, got me a bunch of individual packets of Frank's so I could keep

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_01]: it in my purse.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And it just spooked my soul.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I was so happy to have that.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Love it.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, well, you weren't a blockbuster employee, so I can't even say honorary.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So blockbuster employee in the nineties, what were three movies you would recommend that

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_02]: people watch from 95 to 2005?

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I was not prepared for this question.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the first movie that popped in my head for some reason is now and then, but I'm not

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_01]: surprised at that because I feel like, and is that, I think that's in this timeframe,

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Because it's such a feel good movie.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It's so good.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I'm actually thinking back to all of the episodes I've heard of you guys.

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause you guys remind me of the gems from this timeframe, but I'm also trying not to do

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: the ones that I've reviewed because that I feel like it's cheating.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You can just be like, listen to my episodes.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I love those movies.

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_01]: This is my third episode.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So here you go.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to plug this, this art episode today, evolution.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_01]: This is just such a feel good movie for me.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many quotables and moments from this movie where it just brings me back to

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_01]: watching it as a high schooler at home and having that, those inside jokes with Jackie

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: and the rest of my family and friends and stuff.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_01]: So evolution.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And then what other one?

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm going to go with biodome.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the movies I've been begging Jackie to review.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Please put me on the docket for biodome.

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And I get that movie though, excited every time she says that you say you want to do

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: it.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm, but then I realized I'm not getting excited for the right movie.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I always think I'm you.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_00]: When you say biodome, I hear airheads in my head.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I would do airheads too.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: That's another great one.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But biodome is the one that speaks to my heart.

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So those are my top three or my employee picks.

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Solid picks.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Now and then evolution and biodome.
